چکیده

Abstract Background Mild Behavioral Impairment is characterized by later life emergent and persistent neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS). MBI domains include impaired drive/motivation, affective dysregulation, impulse dyscontrol, social inappropriateness, psychosis. We aimed to compare the relationship between NPS cognition in patients with subjective cognitive decline (SCD), mild impairment (MCI) dementia, using Impairment‐Checklist (MBI‐C) Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI‐Q). were derived from NPI‐Q a published algorithm. Method Data was examined 1238 PROMPT Cognitive Neurology Clinic registry at University of Calgary. baseline MBI‐C (n=474) (n=1040). Forward stepwise linear regression models conducted total domain scores as assessed Montreal Assessment (MoCA). Age, diagnosis, sex education included covariates. Result Overall, 90% had an score>0 55.91% scored above cutoff (>7). prevalence (based on cutoff) 37% SCD, 54% MCI, 62% dementia cutoff. By domain, over half drive/motivation (59.57%), dysregulation (68.66%) or dyscontrol (64.11%), while relatively fewer inappropriateness (33.97%) psychotic (22.25%). For NPI‐Q, 67.98% including 60.36% 60.00% MCI 74.95% dementia. (61%) (58.50%) less than (44.31%), (23.19%) psychosis (10.18%). With increasing diagnostic severity, age, increased, MoCA decreased. Greater significantly associated lower score. Of all domains, strongest association both measures. diagnosis modifiers for MBI‐C. Conclusion are poorer regardless status. more strongly scores. These findings suggest that has utility capturing this specialty clinic population, complement NPI‐Q.

Neuropsychiatric Symptoms in Mild Cognitive Impairment.

OBJECTIVE Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) may be the first manifestation of an underlying neurocognitive disorder. We undertook a review to provide an update on the epidemiology and etiological mechanisms of NPS that occur in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and just before the onset of MCI. We discuss common clinical presentations and the implications for diagnosis and care. METHOD The author...

Neuropsychiatric symptoms in Mild Cognitive Impairment

Materials and methods A total of 30 subjects, aged more than 60 years old, with either MCI (n = 16) or control group (n = 14) were studied. Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) were assessed using the Neuropsychiatric Inventory scale(NPI). Individual subscores of the 10 NPI symptoms and total NPI scores were compared between the MCI patients and control patients. We identified the prevalence of the ...
